We just put down a deposit with Total Yard Works after being thoroughly impressed by their consultation process, and I felt compelled to share an early review that might save some of you the time we spent meeting with other contractors.
I've been helping my grandmother — who isn't easily able … More to navigate these decisions on her own anymore — find the right deck installer for her South Pointe property. Over the past month we met with 8 or 9 different companies, and not one of them came close to the level of patience, helpfulness, and genuine insight that Total Yard Works brought to the table.
A few things that stood out: they called ahead to ask if they could arrive 20 minutes early (a small thing that said a lot), listened carefully to what we actually wanted, and flagged potential issues with our design draft that every other contractor had either missed or hadn't bothered to mention. While most estimators seemed focused on steering us toward whatever they already wanted to sell, Total Yard Works walked us through all of our options. Once we had landed on composite decking ourselves — after they helped us think through some long-term considerations no one else had raised — they brought out a full Trex composite sample kit so we could explore further. Zero pressure throughout.
They're not the cheapest option we found, but they installed more confidence than anyone else that we'd get the best product for our money. I'll update this review with the final results once construction wraps up in about two weeks. -
Awesome customer service and excellent quality work! From my first inquiry to the same day estimate Richard and the team answered my questions and explained each step. And they were able to install a front yard chain link fence enclosure (mainly for my "houdini" beagle) before end of season. … More Which ended up meaning installation was done in very snowy and windy conditions. The team worked so hard with great experience and expertise. I was amazed at how efficiently the team worked and the quality of the fence exceeded my expectations! Thank you so much to the entire team at Total Yard Works but especially the 3 hard workers that worked so diligently and as a great team to install the fence for me. High 5 guys! -

Good experience with Total Yardworks. I needed my backlane gate replaced. They were able to fit me in rather quickly and any problems that arose were dealt with in a fair and efficient manner. My new gate looks great. -

Total Yard Works was engaged to build a perimeter fence around our condo property including dividing fences, and gates. In addition where required, they re-graded owner's back area followed by installing pavers in 5 patio areas. I was looking to move my chain link fence along my back lane. It wasn’t a huge job but other contractors didn’t want to take it on without charging me an arm and a leg. Total Yard Works not only quoted me a fair price, the were able to fit me in sooner than they said. I happened to be out of town but … More after chatting with Tom a number of times, he was able to get a clear idea of what I wanted and like magic, made it happen. On-site, Cory, Nathan, and Gospel demonstrated excellent attention to detail and clearly took pride in their work. They made thoughtful design adjustments along the way, ultimately delivering results that looked even better than we had originally envisioned.

Richard, Scott and crew were great to work with. Process was pretty seamless from initial estimate to completion of Fencing and deck. Office administrator Janessa provided updates on work to be scheduled and was quick to respond to any questions and or concerns.
